TROVATORE--Ah, si, ben mio

The Opera: , One of the worlds most famous works makes its Eugene debut! Giuseppe Verdi's immortal IL TROVATORE is romantic Italian opera at its finest. Guest conductor Willie Anthony Waters leads the full Eugene Opera orchestra, chorus, and a cast of powerful singers including Kelly Cae Hogan (last season's impressive Madama Butterfly) and Eugene Opera's Artistic Director Mark Beudert in the title role. It will be an evening of passionate music making you'll never forget!

The Production: IL TROVATORE will be semi-staged in an innovative and satisfying manner. Full and atmospheric lighting effects will frame the principal singers as they freely move about the stage. Chorus and orchestra will be positioned for full musical effect.

The Music: From the very first atmospheric chords in the orchestra, Verdi's colorful and evocative melodies pour out in famous arias, duets, trios, and choruses. Come hear music you've been familiar with all your life: the "Anvil Chorus,", the "Miserere," the famous tenor aria "Di Quella Pira."
